For many years I have been interested in art and design, as well as their history and development. Both famous and unknown artists have inspired me to begin on the path of creativity and to develop my skills. I use different popular techniques and have created some of my own as well.
Some of my work centers upon self-expression, while other pieces reflect reactions and feelings. You can get a better feel for my work by stopping by my studio.
I was born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland. I hold a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design, where my interest in drawing and painting took forefront.
In the past I've worked in the fields of Graphic Design, Antiques and Architectural Salvage, and with Washington D.C. mural artist Byron Peck before branching out on my own as an artist. Georgetown Park Food Court was one of the projects in which I collaborated with him and other artists to paint a large scale mural on the ceiling.
After establishing my own business, I was commissioned by That’s Amore and Memphis Barbeque restaurants to provide large scale murals. My paintings were installed in numerous locations throughout the DC area, including FedEx stadium. In addition, I designed and painted murals and finishes for many residential clients throughout the Washington DC area.
Since relocating to Barnesville, MD, my focus has been on creating fine art, jewelry made from found objects and primitive/whimsical signs on salvaged wood. Along with my husband, who provides me with salvaged pieces, we design artisan furniture made from reclaimed elements. Together, we are also dealers of repurposed and vintage finds at the Cottage at Leesburg.
Windsong Studio is thrilled to create and share eco-friendly pieces inspired by nature with a focus on recycling the past!
